Tech help from a neighbor,
not a call center
I’m Johanna — your all-around tech person in Richmond’s Southside. I set up software, fix problems, diagnose and replace hardware, and automate the tedious stuff — patiently, in plain English. For you, or for your parents.
Got an urgent request? Check the light.
It works like Uber or Instacart, where you order immediate service right from your phone — except here it’s just me, and I broadcast whether I’m free this very minute from an app on my phone.
I flip the light as I head out or step away, so the color below is always accurate:
- Green — I can bike over right now to help.
- Amber — I’ll respond immediately, but in-person visits get scheduled for later in the day.
- Dark orange — I’ve just stepped away or am in the middle of something, so a reply might take a bit longer.
Whatever the color, just send your request — I’ll respond as soon as I can, likely within a minute when the light is green.
Checking whether I’m free…
One moment — either way, you can always send a request.
Send a requestI flip this from my phone as I head out or step away — it’s never stale by more than a minute.
One neighbor for big and small challenges
Think of me as your all-around tech person: whatever the gadget or the problem, start with me. If it turns out you need a specialist, I’ll tell you honestly and point you the right way.
Set up software & workflows
New computers and devices, apps, accounts, email and backups — plus modern AI tools and automations set up to take the repetitive, time-eating tasks off your plate.
Solve software problems
Slow or crashing computers, Wi-Fi dead spots, printers that stopped printing, baffling error messages, suspicious pop-ups and scam cleanup.
Diagnose & fix hardware
Figure out what's actually failing and replace the part — drive, memory, battery, fan — when it's worth it, and tell you honestly when it isn't.
Patient tech coaching
One-on-one, at your speed, no judgment. I leave you a written cheat sheet so it still works after I've biked away.
I come to you — or remote
House calls around the neighborhood, and once we've met, lots of follow-ups can happen remotely — no waiting for a visit.
Low overhead, fair prices
No company van, no storefront, no payroll, no franchise fees — my costs stay low, so my rates can too. You're paying for the help, not for someone else's overhead.
Worried about Mom’s computer?
Book a visit for your parents even if you live across the country. I’ll call or email you afterward with what I found, what I did, and what it cost — and nothing gets bought or installed without your okay.
Hyper-local, on purpose
I get around Richmond by bike, so I stay close to home — that’s what makes same-day visits possible. If you’re in one of these neighborhoods, you’re in range:
- Forest Hill
- Westover Hills
- Woodland Heights
- Forest View
- Swansboro
- Byrd Park
- Carytown
- Museum District
Close by but not on the list? Just ask — and if you’re farther out, most computer problems can be handled remotely, safely. See the service area.

Who you’re letting in the door
I’ve lived in the Forest Hill area since 2013 and build software professionally — the neighborly visits are the part of the job I like best. Patient with beginners, gentle with old laptops, honest about what’s worth fixing.
